Then in April i had a extremely heavy period where i was bleeding every 30 seconds. Then for some reason i didn't have another period for four and a half months. But I've started again now and I'll have been bleeding for three weeks! What's wrong? I know some people have irregular periods but surely not THIS irregular? I'm going to see my doctor on Wednesday and I'm really worried about what he might say - could this be a sign on infertility?

Anyway, it's a good thing you are seeing a doctor, in case it's due to a hormonal imbalance or something. Don't worry, there's a minimal chance that you might be infertile and in case you were there are plenty of treatments availbale and for the time you decide to have a child there'll be more.
Look up on the web about the menstrual cycle and female hormones. This will help you feel more secure and less woried. Write all your questions down so you don't forget to ask anything and be honest with your doctor.
If you're not already doing so, start keeping a calendar with the dates of your period and other information like amout, color and if there's pain on your belly or breasts, that information might be useful.
Ask your doctor if it'll be useful to have your hormones tested. I was very regular from 13 to 15, then I became very irregular and it took them 3 years to diagnose me with POCS a condition caused by a hormonal imbalance, everyone used to say it was stress, i'd grow out of it, etc. I been able to live happily and normally with it and I know that if someday I wanted to get pregnant and couldn't it probably require me to take some pills and that's all.
Relax, it's probably nothing to worry and if you feel that something is not right trust your instict and try to find whats wrong
good luck

Not a sign of infertility, you could be regular enough to set a clock by and still be infertile or as irregular as a teen girl and pregnant if a man looks at you funny.
Good for you to simply go and see a doctor if you think something is wrong but don't worry about what you might hear. Most likely he will simply tell you that you are irregular. Happens at your age. I know that even women far older then you get irregular under stress. So you worrying about being irregular might make you even more irregular.
The idea that women get their period by the calendar is a myth. It is just a rough estimate, your body ain't a machine and even if it was, yours is just getting run in.
Wait out what the doctor says, but it is a fair bet it will be "you are just irregular".

Your body is still setteling in so you may have all sorts stange periods to start off with, Doctors hear these things on a daily basis so I am sure that he or she will be able to set your mind at ease. If you can, talk to your Mum or Dad I am sure that they will be able to advise you. Good luck on Wednesday, but its no big deal, really ;o)
