I've spent most of year 11 being secretly in love with my re teacher, a fact which in itself has nearly torn me apart, however to spare her feelings I have decided just to write her s note saying how much she means to me so I can get closure because I'm about to leave the school

Here it is.

i meant to say this when i saw you for the last time on wednesday but because I'm so stupidly self-conscious i missed my  chance, so I'll just do it now.

You have been without  doubt the most helpful, understanding and enthusiastic teacher I've ever had and I enjoyed your lessons immensely. i can't quantify how much it means to me that you didn't just leave me to suffer in silence regarding my eyesight, especially seeing as I've had so much trouble with the subject.

I have written this note several times now and each version it's sounded even more ridiculous, especially in email form, but believe me when i say that you made my time at bohunt that bit more bearable.

Basically what I'm asking is: is it enough or too much?

ust to clarify i have no interest in seeing if she feels the same way at all, that would unfair. i just want to feel like i said something rather than just leaving that part of my life open.

also i cant give her a note as i've already finished my lessons with her.

dmartin89 agony auntI think that's a nice note, its not too much. I'm glad you didnt write about your infactuation; that would have been too much.

I think it would be nice to write it in a thank-you card and give it to her at the end of the year.

I think it's too much. I would cut the self-deprecation and just casually state your purpose, i.e. to thank her for what she's done for you. Here is a revised version you might want to consider:
