writes: I don't know what to do - Me and this guy at work have been flirting since he arrived - after several missed opportunties and we finally kissed (about a year of flirting) he just wants friends with benefits I really want more because I like him so much.However, this other guy has asked me out, he seems very nice and normally I would go for it but I am not sure what my "friend" will think as if he asked me out properly I would soooo be his girlfriend, do you think I should text him and ask him what to do and if so how could I word it so he knew I really wanted him.

reader, anonymous, writes (19 March 2009): Hmmm ... i know how you feel, but i suppose if he wants to be mates than let him. You cant never force a relationship to work. If i was you i would go for the one who asked you out because he is totally into you and it might be worth a shot. Obviously if your close friend has a problem than he is jealous and he must like you but that would be his loss if so cus he said that he wanted to be mates.

reader, anonymous, writes (19 March 2009): I think texting with relationships is awful. Either talk on the phone or in person. I'd try dating the guy who asked you out if he seems nice. Friends with benefits never works out anyways--someone ALWAYS gets hurt.
