A male Greece age 36-40, *hahgr writes:

Hi, I've had sex many times but only using condom. the skin on the top of my penis is still intact, the one that is cut in many people when they are young(circumcision).(e.g. most jewish people)...

Is this skin cut when you have sex without condom? does it hurt? what should I do afterwards?

When pulling it with my hand, it hurts very much, but when having sex using condom it doesnt matter at all.

Any ideas? any help someone about the whole thing?

Thank you very much

A reader, anonymous, writes (4 October 2008):

Dear Poster

The skin covering the head of the penis is known as the foreskin.

Your question: Is this skin cut when you have sex without a condom? NO, but if the foreskin does not pull back completely it can cause pain and discomfort.

Does it hurt? No it should not hurt

BUT

this will depend whether or not your foreskin can be pulled back completely. If it can you will be able to enjoy sex just as well without a condom.

If your foreskin won't pull back completely you probably will enjoy sex more using a condom.

You mention that "when pulling it with my hand, it hurts very much"; that indicates that you experience pain as the foreskin is stretched; I suggest you consult your doctor; he can explain to you how to stretch your foreskin slowly over several weeks or might suggest circumcision if the problem is severe. This is a simple operation and clears the problem for good.

Some men have a foreskin which never pulls back fully as it should; they often masturbate by massaging the head of the penis with the skin forward instead of pulling it back.

The additional problem with a foreskin that does not pull back completely is the wash and keeping clean, as cheesy white material called smegma accumulates under the foreskin; this can irritate the tip of the penis and is also not very pleasant for a partner; especially in oral sex.

I do hope this is of assistance to you.

Best wishes and keep SMILING.
