A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I need gift ideas for my boyfriend for four upcoming events between now and next summer.

1.) Christmas

2.) Valentines Day

3.) His 18th Birthday (valentines day and his birthday are 2 days apart and for his birthday i was thinking of buying him 18 gifts)

4.) His High School Graduation

We have been dating since I was in 8th grade and he was a freshmen, so about 3 years. Come Septemeber I will be a junior and he will be a senior. I have already given him presents that are most commonly suggested - things of his favorite sports teams, candy, build a bear, a book of 100 reasons why I love him.

I know all of these events are rather far away but I will be needing to save up lots of money for all of them. He likes football, basketball, baseball, red bull, fifa, and video games although he sold his xbox because he wasn't using it much durring basketball season. If you have any ideas please help. Thanks!

A female reader, Holliehocks United Kingdom +, writes (10 August 2011):

You could buy him the 18 gifts, but make sure they are not too expensive! You could do a little 'treasure hunt' with them, giving him clues on where to find the next gift. you'd have to make sure that the places you left the gifts were secure and you're not likely to get into trouble for leaving unidentified packages! Ask friends, family etc., to hold the gifts until he finds them all.

From now until the occasion, on every date you have collect an object from the venue....a McDonald's straw, cinema ticket etc., and make a little sovenir booklet, you could gather photo's along the way too to include with the object.
