A reader, anonymous, writes (27 July 2008):

Sex for my wife and I is normally better when we travel. The stress is gone and we are relaxed. We have had both great sex and so-so sex both at home and while on vacation, but the best nights ever have been while we were away and we have been together for 29 years.

Getting off too fast is not uncommon for younger guys. When I was your age it was like 2 or 3 minutes if I remember correctly. Now at 63 it is like 15 to 20 minutes most times. Even now lube makes it last longer for me, as there is less sensitivity when slippery. Try some Astroglide or K-Y liquid lube and see if it helps. Of the ones that we have tried, we like K-Y Sensual Silk the best.

Frank B Kermit agony auntOf course sex will be better during the getaways. At home are all the reminders of the stress and pressures of everyday life. Remove the stress, have more enjoyable sex.

Are you living in a city? Do you by chance live close to an area she grew up in, or near her family? These things can all contribute.

Although I think that moving to a new area MIGHT (not will), help the situation, you also have to factor in if there are stress factors at home that will still be there if the two of you move.
