Off course it is not, you have male friends and he has female friends. He has been open and honest with you about it and he has also told you it is fine for you to text your male friends as long as they do not over step the mark. So really I do not see the problem here.
Obviously you have low self confidence and you fear that he is going to go off with another girl. But honey he is being straight with you and even offering to show you his texts. He is entitled to have female friends, and if you are going to be a clingy girlfriend her is going to get fed up and you are going to end up pushing him away, you need to trust him in order to be in a relationship.
