reader, anonymous, writes (3 May 2011): The clitoris has nerve endings that eventually become sensitive when rubbed for a period of time. Like when a woman masturbates, when she finishes she feels sensitive down there. I did read in a book that if you do breathing exercises while touching it prevents the clit from becoming sesitive too quickly. I tried it, and it worked for me. I also found that breathing also makes me feel good sensations inside my vagina. Tantra involves breating exercises. I once follwed one in a tantra book, and I started to feel good down there without any touching or penetration. also it made me wet down there.

My clit is too sensitive to be touched directly as well. But rubbing/licking around it in circular motions. This sends me through the roof. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Good luck!

Perhaps her natural juices are not enough to prevent the area from hurting. Try lubricating products, most pharmacies stock these popular brands, they include KY Jelly, Sensilube, Liquid Silk, and Probe. There are also some flavoured and coloured gels on the market, but these are not recommended for internal use.
That way you'll be able to glide your hand and fingers around the area without her getting sore.
Try and see how you get on.

You may be doing it to hard try softer or putting k y jelly and then rubbing it it should take the pain away if not tell her to go see her doctor.
Good luck

I have this problem too. My boyfriend is a bit 'rough' and it feels so sensitive and so intense when he touches my clit that it physically hurts and he has to stop.
Try rubbing around it, and using the hood over the clit and rubbing thru that. For some women their clit's just can't be touched directly because it's much, much too sensitive and really does hurt, especially when you rub it. Try to avoid touching it directly and rub through other layers, see if this helps. rather than rubbing 'up and down' (which makes it hard to avoid directly touching the clitoris) try rubbing in circular motions.
See what works out.
If it isn't over sensitivity then i don't know what it is but it sounds most likely to be this. No need to worry. I'm sure other people will also provide good advice.
good luck.
