what is wrong with me.. whenever me and my boyfriend get mad at each other he says goodbye then i say bye but i always end up trying to get him to talk to me. and he doesn't.. he just talks to me when ever he feels like it. and it makes me so sad.. like i feel depressed. and i'm about to cry. i hate it so much.. it like he has power over me.. but i swear i'm in love with him. i just hate how it's like this.. it used to be the other way around but now i've fallen for him so much that i just wanna be with him, talk to him, see him all the time. but i can't.. he smokes with his friends and gets stupid and i get mad at him but i can't stay mad at him.. he acts like its no big deal. i'm just hurting. is this what it's like to be in love? i need help please.. thank you.

A reader, anonymous, writes (16 January 2009):

wow, at 13-15, I was just a shy little girl giggling in the corner and writing doodle hearts on my notebook about Danny or Jake. And then my friends would tease me about him and we'd go out for pizza or a movie and have a girls night out. What the hell is going on with the world today?! GEESUS!

A male reader, DoubleM United States +, writes (15 January 2009):

DoubleM agony auntHe is playing you like a fiddle, which is how he is likely to treat teenage girls for years to come. Then someday, he will try to treat slightly more mature women the same way, but the smarter ones will dump him like a rock, and he will continue treating some gullible woman like trash while fathering a child or two, then leave them for some woman he thinks will better put up with his irresponsible ways. You need to learn what makes a man worthwhile, and it is usually not because he looks "hot" or treats you poorly.

A female reader, TheRabbit United States +, writes (15 January 2009):

TheRabbit agony auntYou're in high school. There are SO many other men in the sea and so many years ahead of you. You deserve better than guy who feel makes you feel bad at All right now. You both are going to grow and change over the years and you will definitely find someone who is better for you and likely another one after that who's even better than the previous. There will be relationships whose quality will go up and down.
