A female , anonymous writes:

How common is it for your first serious relationship to be the person that you end up spending the rest of your life with? I love my guy to death and want to marry him but part of me wonders if it's because he's the only person I've ever experienced this with, and he's the guy i lost my virginity to. My parents married and it was their first serious relationship, and they had a messy divorce that ruined both of their lives.

A male reader, Lostandalone United States +, writes (11 September 2006):

Lostandalone agony auntIts hard to tell. Some marriages work out with the first love some don't and who's to say that the next love will work or won't. If you want to experience more or feel like there is something else that you are missing than I suggest you go out and find it. Just remember that this "love" that you speak of might not welcome you back so easily. Its a hard choice but everyone needs to experience life but you have to understand that another's life doesn't end because you're not in it. Good Luck.
