Is this my period?

A female age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I have been having a small white dicharge for some time now, and then just recently a brown/black substance came. I think its my period but im not sure, its not runny or gooey just kind of inbetween, i havnt spoke to my mum about it, I dont really know what to say!? help....

lexilou agony auntThats what I had first time and then started properly a month or so later. I still get it at the end of my period, I call it the shitty brown phase, sorry if thats graphic but if it helps you to identify what youre going through I thought I would help!! The white discharge is often referred to as a milk period which young girls take as a sign your periods will start soon. I think its to do with you hormones changing etc and a non smelly white discharge is perfectly normal and you will get it throughout your life x

Just say:

"Mum I think I could have started my period".

You'll be nervous, but it's very natural. Every girl ha to do it at some stage in your life.
