I hope you are asking yourself if your girlfriend is emotionally mature enough and physically ready to have a baby should she fall pregnant. Are you ready to be a dad at 18 and deal with that life sentence as in paying child support for 18 years? No form of birth control is 100% effective and it take major trust in the girl to take her birth control pills and use them accurately.
If I were you I would never even consider having sex with any female that was not taking the pill. It is very easy for a girl in your age group to get pregnant, even on her very first time. Do NOT rely on condoms as your only form of protection against pregnancy.
Go to Planned Parenthood with your girlfriend and educate yourselves on sex and birth control and perhaps get her a prescription for the pill, also be sure and pay attention to their information on the real costs of having a baby and raising it in dollars and cents. People often say a baby doesn't cost much, guess again.

Your answer is too simplistic... if your right how many seconds after you have sex does the name appear on the list? There's the slight matter of being convicted... that is, *if* it's a crime.

It has some information regarding this, and their argument does seem quite valid.
If you do have sex with a minor then yes your name will be put on the state sex offenders register.
