Hey Agony Aunts,

so I have a really stupid question, haha. I have a little crush on this guy that comes to my work place often, and I can't tell if he's flirting or just being nice. I have never been good at figuring out those sort of things, and I was hoping for a second opinion.

So, I'm 25 and I work at a chiropractor's office, I work at the front, and I am in charge of filing, taking phone calls, and checking out clients. 2 months ago this guy came in, and instantly I thought he was a really good looking guy, so when he was having me book another appointment for him I noticed a tattoo on his wrist, when I recognized that it was a video game character I asked him about it. He told me it was in memory of his brother who died years ago and I admired him for it. He told me that he was going to have it retouched soon and add the brother's name on the bottom of it and I told him that he should show me it after he gets it done, because I love tattoos, haha.

So, 2 months go by and he comes in again a couple days ago. When he was checking out with my coworker, I was on the phone and as soon as I get off he comes over to me and smiles and says, "Weren't you the girl I was talking to last time?" and when I said yes, he showed me his retouched tattoo, and said, "I wanted to stop by and show you after I got it done, but I was really busy. But I'm glad I can show you now." Then he told me about a NEW tattoo he was going to get for his grandfather on his other wrist, and told me he'll definitely show me when he gets it done. My coworker then said, "Good. She was going to ask about your tattoo." and he just smiled at me. I'm pretty sure at this point my face was bright red from embarrassment.

Honestly, he kept talking, but I was so nervous, I don't remember anything he said. I NEVER get this way about guys. So, he ended up rescheduling for 2 weeks after that appointment, and at the same time.

I'm wondering if I should say something? Or what I could possibly say? I don't know if he's single, but I want to start a casual conversation, and see where it goes from there.

Any advice? Was he flirting, or just being nice?

Okay, it really is impossible to say whether or not he was flirting with you or just being nice based on the interactions you describe. It could be either.

You'll just have to chat with him whenever you see him. Next time you see him ask if he's had the other tattoo done and ask to see if it he as (once you've seen to your work duties etc). If it's fully healed, you can touch it lightly (you did say it was a wrist tattoo so that shouldn't be too improper)

Ask him if he has plans for more tattoos. Ask him "Do you have any more tattoos - ones that you can show me anyway?"

If he has other tattoos, ask him whether thay are dedicated to other people as well. (This might elicit information about a long-term partner or children)

Ask him which tattoo artist(s) he uses .... There's plenty for you to chat about.

If you're confident enough, you could ask him out directly
