you can get your hair chemically straightened, it lasts until the hair grows out. i don't know how much it will be where you live, but in australia its around $150 depending where you go. as for your mum i don't know what she is like, i don't know if i can help you there, just tell her you would save time on doing it yourself everyday...

It is not called a perm, it is the opposite of a perm. A perm works to make hair curly, chemical straightening relaxes the hair so it becomes straight. So you need to make sure you ask for chemical straightening not a perm!
It involves some pretty strong chemicals so it needs to be done by a professional, you might be better going to a bigger salon that knows what they are doing rather than your local salon. I guess you should just google some salons in your area and ring them up to ask if they do chemcial hair straightening.
You will still need to use hair straighteners each day even after the chemical straightening as it wont make it perfectly straight (but it will be a lot quicker than it was before). You will need to get some good shampoo and conditioner too because it can dry out easily and become frizzy, therefore you will spend a lot more on buying hair products to keep it looking good. Some people have experienced their hair falling out when they get this treatment, and some people end up with wavy bits and then other bits are poker straight.
It usually works on most people but there is a chance your hair may react badly to it so you need to be aware of the risks. You usually have to have 2 treatments a year, most say you need touch ups every 6-9 months so you will need to factor in a cost to do it twice a year.
Cost wise it seems to vary, you need to ring up some salons that do it to get the prices. I think it will be over $100 though, it seems to be very expensive to get it done properly.
I think you need to do your research - speak to some salons that do it and get all the facts before you talk to your mum about it. It might be difficult to convince her though if it is very expensive, after all you only have wavy hair and people that choose chemical straightening normally have incredibly curly hair that they cannot manage or straighten at all by themselves!
I hope this helps!
