writes: This may sound like a stupid question - everyone wants to get a tan: how can you get rid of a tan??! I am a model and naturally dark skinned so I tan in ridiculously short spaces. A week ago, I walked to the store (10mins walk) and when I returned I was covered in a horrid tan with very very bad tan lines etc. When I get a tan also it lasts for about 3mths. I have a very big modelling job coming up in a few weeks that is worth a lot of money and I am worried if they see me like this it is quite likely I could loose the contract. Can anyone possible give me any tips or suggestions please? I would really appreciate it.

Lemon should do it.. lemon will work as a light form of bleach.

Don't you just hate people who live in the sun... I'm offended again, because you just reminded me that the sun has gone now.. lol

Miammine I'm sorry if I offended u... I didn't mean to.
Never been to Britain... but only two weeks?
Don't forget, though, I'm from the Sunshine State (Florida) and went to college in Sunny Mexico... and going back to sunny Mexico... so I'm used to a LOT of sun; it's all relative.

SirenaBlusera, I am highly offended by your post.. of course we get sun, we don't live in the north pole.. this is the UK, we got two weeks sun, a wonderfull summer, and now we is back to grey days, lots of rain and we is waiting for snow..
We can do sun in Britian, we can do sun, snow, earthquakes, rain all on the same day, so noone gets bored.. :P

Try exfoilation.. rough corse sea salt or similar abrasive stuff on you skin may remove the layer of tan that you find disgusting.

Honestly speaking, though, just stay in as much shade as possible, and cover up with long sleaves and pants when you're out...where a good hat, like SirenaBlusera said.. I've never heard that problem before, but I'll come and add more if I think of anything.

Here's 5. Whichever works best is the way to go:Mix 1 tsp of milk powder, 1 tsp of honey, 1 tsp of lemon juice, and ½ tsp of almond oil. Apply on face and wash off after 10-15 minutes. This pack helps bring shine to the skin and also removes tan.Mix oatmeal with curd and tomato juice and apply on the face. Keep it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. It helps remove the tan and lightens the skin.Applying turmeric powder along with lime juice removes the tan. Lime juice is a natural bleach.A tbsp of gram flour mixed with 2 tsp of raw milk and 2-3 drops of lime juice works well for lightening dark skin. Apply this mixture and leave it for 15 minutes before washing off. Repeat for 4 weeks and follow up with once a week.Apply a mixture of grated tomato with 2-3 drops of lime juice on the face. Leave it for 20 minutes before washing off. Do this twice a day for 15-20 days for best results.I would also suggest exfoliation though make sure you use sufficient moisture in between. And sunblock. The non-greasy hypoallergenic stuff so you don't get a break out. Good luck with your set =)

You've GOT to be kidding me!!
But yeah, I understand why tan lines can hurt you in modeling. Still... in this digital age, can't they just airbrush or photoshop your picture?
I'm sure it will have faded in a few weeks. Just wear a big hat that provides enough shade to shield the sun's rays.
I certainly don't mean to offend anyone, but I see you live in Britain... I didn't think it ever got sunny over there? I could be wrong; I've never been.

I wish i had ur problem! Either even it out at the tanning salon, or when u step out where a high spf sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and keep ur body clothed..leaving no inch of skin to get tan

No way to get rid of a tan, but you can get rid of the tan lines. My cousin is a model and can't have tan lines either. The only thing I can think of that will help is to even everything out. I hope everything works out for you.

I don't know of any ways to get rid of tans, but I do suggest keeping sunscreen with you at all times. Get some of the kind that you spray and put it on whenever you go out if you want to eliminate future tans.
