Is there anything else I can do to give me more energy and make this nausea go away?

Question - (26 August 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 26 August 2008)
A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Okay, so since Friday, I've been on antibiotics for a bacterial infection. Meanwhile, on Monday, I started my period and started my first pack of birth control pills. Between being on my period, being on these antibiotics AND birth control, I feel very weary, tired and particularly nauseous.

It isn't extreme, but I can't eat much or engage in much movement-which is putting a damper on my exercise regimen. I'm not sure if it's my pills causing it, or my period-but it's very uncomfortable and I didn't know if there was a way I could combat this situation?

Considering I'm already on antibiotics and am not much of a pill person to begin with, I don't want to take anything like Pepto-bismal and anything with sugar, like sprite or 7-up, can feed the bacteria causing my infection, so I'm staying completely away from things like that.

I'm afraid that if it's caused by the birth control pills, that it will affect my sex life after my period. Is there anything else I can do to give me more energy and make this nausea go away?

A reader, anonymous, writes (26 August 2008):

Get Lactobacillus acidophilus (pro-biotic) tablets from your local health store or supermarket. It helps replace bacteria in your gut that the antibiotics kill. This is what is making you feel nauseus.

It's not just mumbo-jumbo, studies also confirm its effectiveness

(I've tried it and it really helps too)
