A male Canada age 41-50, *lder friend writes:

I've known this girl Katie since I was 12 years old (she was 8). She was the younger sister to my best friend. As we got older the two of us became extremely close. We became best friend , hanging out every day after school, having sleep, overs with each other. Every where we went people thought we were a couple. We basically were with out the sex part. We both dated over the years. Lets just say most girls don't feel comfortable when you best friend is a female and they walk in on the two of you laying in bed laughing,

Recently we just went through break ups and I've started seeing her in a different light. I was looking through some old pictures and I can totally see why everyone thought we were a couple. We always cuddle, compliment each other, we are happiest when we are together.

I was talking to a friend and said that I wondered what it would be like to be Ina. Relationship with Katie and lee launched and said that katiemhas only been waiting since high school for me to ask her out,

She has never made me feel like she was interested in dating so now I'm confused. I don't want to do anything to ruin our life long friendship but I feel like I keep looking for the "right girl" and she is already laying next to me.

Is genre any way to see if she has th damage feelings with out making our friendship awkward

Older friend is verified as being by the original poster of the question

I literally posted this question and she walked in my apartment, she worked last night and said she had a horrible shift (she's a nurse) and didn't want to be alone. We want into my room put on a movie and laid in bed.

I think I thought about kissing her and ways to do it the entire show. Finally she looked over at me a smiled and I went for it.

Lets just say I think I know the answer to my question.

Now I just need to figure out how to not let us slide back Into friend mood again.
