writes: Hello. I am worried, and I know it is probably for no reason. I have never had sex. I am on the pill because I get really bad menstrual pains, but a few weeks ago I missed it for a week, and I have never been very good at taking it on time, because it is not for anything pregnancy related. However- my period is nearly 3 weeks late, and in a week I have put on 4lbs. I am now stupidly worrying that I could somehow be pregnant, (me and my boyfriend do "fool around" but always with underwear on)...is there any way I could be pregnant without having full intercourse? Please reply quickly, I know I should do a test if I'm so worried but I am too embarrassed to buy one. Please put my stupid brain to rest and tell me full intercourse is the ONLY way to get pregant.

reader, anonymous, writes (31 May 2008): Honey, pretty much the same thing happened to me. The reason your period is late is probably because you're stressing so much. Once, my period was late by over 2 weeks because I was crying and worrying so badly. You're putting extra stress on yourself unnecessarily, so take a few long baths and try and relax! But to pop your mind at ease honey, get all your confidence and buy a pregnancy test. Although I highly highly doubt you are pregnant. In chemists, women buy pregnancy tests all the time and they won't even bat an eyelid. It's not a girl's favourite thing to do, but once you've taken the test, it will feel so much better. I cried because I was so happy the test came back negative, as I'd been worried for so long! Then my period came just a day later. So really, take a test, but don't worry if you can help it. reader, anonymous, writes (31 May 2008): I think it is extremly unlikely that you are pregnant sweety. Unless his sperm entered your body vagina another way for example if you pleased him and he had sperm on his fingers and then he put his fingers inside you.
Try not to worry hunny. Missing your pill can have all kinds of effects on your periods. I highly expect that your body is just confused with the ammount of the pill that you have missed.
Don't worry. Relax. Everything will soon go back into the normal swing of things.

 I would be lying if I said full intercourse is the only way to get pregant but you need to take the test first, its probably unlikely but without knowing the full details of your fooling around its hard to comment really. Put your mind at rest first and just make sure that you are taking as many precautions as you can not just against pregnancy but against diseases too x x

 There's no way you're pregnant. Full intercourse is needed for pregnancy. Period. Don't belive those urban myths you hear about so-and-so who got pregnant because some random sperm was on a toilet seat somewhere. That kind of stuff is impossible!
Aren't schools supposed to teach this stuff? This kind of stupid panic is what results from abstinence only education!

well, there is a slight chance of pregnancy without intercourse, if you to practice foreplay. But fo rthat to happen he would have had to somehoe get his sperms very next to your area for that to happen.
It a very slight chance but it happens.
now, relating to what you said it is probably some hormone disorder which prevented form you having your period. yu do not gain that much weight in justthree weeks if you are pregant so it probably something you have eaten that made you gain wieght and miss your period. Food allergies can cause that.
if you are that anxious, buy the test. ask a freind to buy it for you if you are too shy. there is nothing to be embaressed about. you chosul actually feel proud that you hae the guts to walk in and ask for one.
