When you break up with him, just make it about you and him... even if he brings the other guy up, tell him you're just not happy in your relationship with him. It's over, you don't love him.
Break ups are difficult. There's usually no easy way to do it. People get angry, and hurt. Such is the nature of a breakup. Just do it and get it over with.
