If you do not cut it now then the splits continue on up your hair until it reache the roots. The longer you leave it Hunny. The worse it will get.
Sorry. I know you love your hair.

I just cut it, Katie holmes style and it looks gorgeous and it so healthy, I love it. You don't have to cut it that short but you do have to cut those split ends out to keep it looking good and healthy. And also when you go to the salon, make sure to ask for a deep conditioning treatement.
What would you rather have long, dull hair that looks like a big haystack? Or shorter hair that's shiny and vibrant?

Hair conditioner may work as a short term measure but your best bet is to get them all cut out as the new hair will grow stronger. You could have hair extensions fitted while you wait for your new hair to come through...

youre going to have to cut it for it to be healthy again. 2 inches should be ok but after that go get special conditioner that is for people who use a lot of heat on their hair. Good luck!
