And to be honest I'm shocked that girls now a days in this day and age were contraception is so easy to get there's even clinics were you go on the pill for free where I live but yet everyone is pregnant! My friend became pregnant last year just before her 16th birthday she had contraception but chose not to use it! And since she got pregnant 11 more girls I know who are all under 18 have become pregnant! I just don't understand why they chose not to use contraception when it's highly available to them! And I'm even more shocked and plain well scared of what they all have to say about it I've seen comments to each other on MySpace saying well done with your news! and awh you're so lucky I can't wait to have a baby from a 16 yr old?!! I'm the kind of person that won't glamorize pregnancy to you so when my other friend announced she was pregnant I said you're an idiot do you know how much your life is going to change? Her reply was it won't change all my friends will mind the baby when I want to go out and my boyfriend will too and I'll still be able to go out every night of the week! I had to laugh because as much as people say oh I'll mind the baby for you anytime they change their mind really quick after the baby is born!My best friend who had her baby a few months ago thought all these things too and planned to go back to school but now the baby's here she realized it's not glamorous at all and she can't live the same life she used to! She never sees her friends no more only me! She can't go to school again until the baby grows up! The boyfriend is never around! She hasn't been out in a year and a half and cries her eyes out every time I see her! people make remarks on her gained weight and people call her a slut even though she's not! These are the kind of things pregnant teens have to put up with!

Well I had my 1st child when me and my mrs was 18 - 19..yea it was tough but its great!!
in my view best to have kids when your young, you grow with them and they make you grow up to,and years later when they are grown your still young enough to enjoy life with your grown children.
I loved every minute rolling with my sons when I was in my 20's and being a family man while many of my friends of the same age was on the streets doing nothing much, and where my friends now in there 30's are only just now making a family and rolling with small children my biggest boy is standing tall and ready to start on dealing with life issues himself & helps to look out for his younger brother..Nothing wrong with being young and growing a family even better if you've got support from your own mother and father...
If you leave it too late in life then your kids may not get time to spend with there grand perants as they may die before they are grown..I know my mother and father are proud of all there grand kids and enjoy the extra humans in the family tree, and we all have plenty of life in our bodies..

Heyy,
Teenage pregnancy is not cool, in my opinion anyway.
I know a few people in my year (11) who are preganat, and when I was in year 9, someone in the year below me was pregnant (abortion).
But now, in year 11, I know what you mean, I've seen this girls myspace/bebo and they're all congratualating her, and she even has the due date on there with scans!
In my opinion it's wrong. Not all of them are sluts, I'll agree, they may think they're in love, or, contraception is only, I think 98% effective.
Even still, the people who don't choose to use it, I don't understand why either, you're right, it is available, easily and free, people choose not too, because, I don't even know.
A lot more could happen than just getting pregnant, STIs, desieses could be transmitted from one person to the other, and the only way around that is a condom, or pregancy, the pill, but safer with both!
I am only 15 as well, and I also don't understand why people are so careless, if they choose to have sex, they should be responsible, if they aren't responsible enough to protect themselves, they aren't old enough to even be doing it, in my opinion.
Anyway, sorry this is quite long, I think, but these are some of my views, because I completly agree with you. People think there lives will remain the same, where as, it will never be the same again.

I afree that its terrible & I have a friend that is 19 & has 2kids. I dont know the situation in canada but in ireland they are only encouraging these single girls to have kids because they get too many social benefits (welfare) & they get offered a house in a private area that costs almost nothing to rent because the council buys the house for them. it is ridiculous & I hope the governments do something about it as we simply cant afford to kaap paying taxes so these people can sponge off us all.
