A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

So me and this guy I was dating for two months broke things off because he was given a job offer back in his hometown in Chicago. Although I knew it was coming, the break up hurt nonetheless. He suggested staying friends. Is this a good idea?

Thanks for your responses. I really would like to try being friends with him...but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. I've never done the "friends" thing with someone I've dated before...and never with someone who's moving thousands of miles away. Any suggestions? Also, I think I was more attached to him than he was to me...especially since we got intimate towards the end.
