writes:I think i have an abnormal vagina. The labia are strangly larger than the rest of my Vagina and sorta hang down a bit. i have always been consious of this but even more so now when a guy described it as overgrown funghi.is it really abnormal and is there anything i can do to get it changed?

I have wondered if it was normal for so long that I literally drove myself crazy. Apparently, for no reason. After learning that every single vagina is different and that some men prefer bigger vulva and that the rest don't care at all, I finally chilled out. If you want to give me the name and address of that guy who told you such a horrible thing to make you question yourself, it would be my honor to pay him a little visit. He was probably afraid his little penis would be overshadowed. Girls have enough problems, for crying out loud. :-)

After reading all the answers on this question, i finally no longer feel like a freak. I was even too scared to go for pap smears in case the doctor laughed at me. I never let guys go down on me either because was way too embarrassed to let them see close up! So Thank you for having the courage to ask this personal question!!!!! And Thanks everyone for the great answers. Nice to know im not a freak of nature and am not alone! I feel way better! :D

But I don't think blokes really care, as long as it is well looked after!! I think young immature BOYS who have little sexual experience and just see the mags and tv think it is abnormal as they have probably never seen many real ones!! You are Normal, lots of people are different. I asked my doctor and she said i was perfectly normal. So don't worry x

The guy will probably be telling the next girl he sees that her labia are too small, or too pink, or too wrinkly or too smooth, or too "something", compared to yours.
There are trends in the porn industry as in anything else, and these change every few years as guys always want to see something new. At one time it was small natural breasts, then big natural breasts, then women with big boob jobs, then women with smaller boob jobs. At some point it was "in" to be blonde, then brunette, then long hair, then short. The pubic area went from hairy, to trimmed, to hairless, back to a bit of hair. Curves were in, then no curves, then some curves. In porn, naturally shaped labia were in, but now some women have surgery to have their labia reduced.
Like fashion, things go through cycles. The point is, if you pay attention to the fads, you will be tossed around like a little boat unable to steer in a big storm of waves. Don't get influenced by what guys say.
From a guy's point of view, all kinds of labias and vaginas are a turn-on, as are all shapes and sizes of breasts, bums, etc. What a lot of women don't realize, is that when they change something about themselves, they probably turn off the same amount of guys as they turn on.
Personally, I love longer labia. My girlfriend has labia like you describe and I love touching her there and going down on her.

reader, anonymous, writes (12 June 2009): I HAVE THE SAME THING. It just kind of popped up one day. I've gone to the doctor and they said it's completely normal and all vaginas are different. I'm 16 and I've had it since I was 12. I've tried to get surgery but I wasn't done growing. There's a chance you may grow into it but if you don't don't worry about it. It may get annoying but guys really do not care.

Every girls vaginas different, they don't all look like the ones in mags or in porn movies. They come in all different shapes and sizes and yours sounds completely normal.
Don't be ashamed by it, you will find someone that cares about you and won't care what you look like down there. I'm affraid there are some stupid twats in this world which will give you horrible comments but you just need to rise above it because they are just immature.

So don't worry about it! It is too early for you to be letting guys see it, but when you're older it will be much appreciated!

From how you describe yourself, my wife's are a bit like yours and I think they are cute. I actually prefer it that way. I have no idea what other women who I have dated looked like. I never noticed. It just doesn't matter to me. I don't think it matters to most guys.

I've seen inner labia 10x the size of the outer and purple-ish brown and that was NORMAL. The only reason to EVER consider surgery to make them smaller would be if they are hanging low enough to be uncomfortable (against underwear or something). If he doesn't think your vagina is beautiful he DEFINITELY does not deserve the view! At your age, I bet he just hasn't seen one before and wasn't expecting it to be a real body part (as opposed to an airbrushed porn "flower"). Don't let this creep get you down. I can almost guarantee you that any other guy would think it was beautiful.

 Vulvas (vaginas are inside your body, the external part is called the vulva) come in all shapes and sizes. It's totally normal to have differently shaped and sized labia. Hanging or not it's all natural and part of what makes you special.That guy is a knucklehead. Don't waste your time on anyone who puts you down.

The vaginas in porn that you see are not typical. All sorts of vaginas are "normal". I wouldn't worry about it, except to make sure you only show your bits to guys who are grown up enough to appreciate them!

 there are surgeries to get them smaller, its normal there is no such thing as a normal vagina, those vaginas seen in pornographic movies are airbrushed surgically fixed so do not worry about it. your perfectly normal.
