He said he was really depressed and cut himself, due to all his friends turning on him and a bad upbringing. Everyone else at the club says he is a dirty attention seeker and lies for sympathy. My question is, what am i supposed to do? I never know what to say. Thanks to any replies. xx

He isnt your responsiblity now, but you can advise him to go to the dr. Dont be dragged into his misery though and feel obliged to have to help him. He is an adult now and has to learn to look after himself. so dont feel guilty in any way.
take care

Hello.
Self harming is an actual illness, there are different reason why people resort to self harming, your friend needs medical attention for this condition and must be seen soon by a Doctor or a councilor, this is not a a simple question of attention seeking, this illness affect different people in different ways and i would not take this condition in a light hearted manner, your friend is ill.
Hope this will help you.
