writes: I recently gave my virginity to my boyfriend, but I don't know if my hymen has completely torn. Here's what happened:On Friday we were making out a fair amount and I let him inside me quite far but not all the way (about 3/4) because it burned more than I expected! We were using a good amount of lube and a condom and less than a minute into it I realized I was bleeding pretty bad. I read that a torn hymen shouldn't produce more than about two tablespoons of blood after breaking - but I was bleeding about four to five! So we stopped right there and I was in shock because I hadn't even felt anything 'tear' down there, just a burning sensation. My legs were pretty wobbly and I felt dizzy for about fifteen minutes afterwards.I only spotted after that, but we waited it out a few days and last night (Tuesday) we tried again. By then I was hoping that my hymen wouldn't bleed a second time because I assumed it was fully torn (my boyfriend's penis is a large in condom size and I have never even masturbated in my life so my vagina is pretty tight!).And so we started up again - but I don't think I was fully aroused because there was a lot of noise coming from outside and I was paranoid. But anyway I let him in again, with a slightly smaller amount of lube (but still a condom) and I didn't even get the whole head inside before I started bleeding AGAIN! I was so upset and frustrated because I really wanted to go further but my bleeding is ruining everything. If I am still bleeding does this mean that A) my hymen is not completely torn, B) there is something wrong that I should see a doctor about or C) I am attempting sex without being aroused enough or using enough lube? For both these situations I was on top so I could control how far he went, but I am confused because the second time felt more painful than the first! I could really use some advice. I was thinking of buying a vibrator to get used to having something inside me, and let's face it a small vibrator would probably get me off better than if I keep trying to have painful sex.

Also, use plenty of lube on the condom if you try again and maybe try the missionary position (with you holding/guilding his penis to control depth) as being rather inexperienced the Girl On Top might be a bit much for you right now (as it is said to give tighter and deeper penetration).

You should go to your doctor and describe your symptoms to them. It sounds to me like you could be allergic to latex, which it the substance most condoms are made out of. You can get latex free condoms which are just as safe.
Good Luck. Let us know how you get on.
