Is my friend's analysing correct?

A female United Kingdom age 30-35, *enny 1494 writes:

ok well basically I heard a rumour about this guy [sean] who i've liked for ages, the rumour was about him and this other girl, so my friend text him on my phone and asked if the rumour was true and when he replied he said "NO. Definitely not true."

My friend saw this and she started analysing it saying that he likes me and wants me to do something as if he wasnt interested he would have said no.... but he said that instead so he's trying to make a point trying to convince me to ask him out...

I'm confused so i'd be very grateful of all opinions on this reply and if you think my friend's talking bull or not :) xx

Benny 1494 agony auntyeah thanks, i replied saying oh right cool :D and i didnt get a reply but then he turned up at the place where we all were andwaved at me

according to my friends he watched me for the whole time he was there and we had a silent conversation...you know one where you talk but you dont say anything as your so far away...

any way thought i'd update you :D

turtle86 agony auntHe might yes, but the more likely answer is that he just doesn't want to be the guy known as her bf. He is probably just saying that to enforce what he is trying to say. He is most likely just trying to make sure you know that the answer is no and not a possible yes. [:
