It was first time for both and she had some blood coming out of her vagina during the intercourse, which we both know is normal the first time. However, i didn't come and stopped for the fear that we might want to have more and more of it once we had it once. We live in different towns and now she says after a few days that she feels some pain in her abdominal area like when a needle is inserted. Is it possible that she could be pregnant? How long does it take to actually know if she is pregnant, after having the intercourse? Please advice..

Some tests take less than 3 weeks to tell if you are pregnant or not! I know someone who found out within a week.
I'd suggest she go see a doctor and he can tell her what's going on.

Well if you did not use protection then yes it is a possibility even though you did not come inside her, if you are concerned which you clearly are if it is less than 72 hours since it happened she will still be in time to get emergency contraception if not a pregnancy test will work from nine to twelve days after conception even before a period is missed.
Take care.xx.
