I dont think that there is anything wrong with it however people can be mean especially in high school so i think that it is better if it is between you and your mom. Even your best friend could let her tongue slip. I think that the next thing to do is get tampons with an applicator and sit down with your mom and figure out how to work them. The good thing is the first one is always the hardest!

I think it's natural to be embarassed about it but great that you're close enough to your mum to ask her for help. If this is something you would rather not repeat however, buy a box of applicator tampons. An applicator helps the tampon to get to the right place on its own.

Heck fire, when you were a baby she stuck a thermometer up your butt to take your temperature, same locale different hole. We mothers are pretty amazing aren't we!?

Don't let it worry you hon. Although it is personal thing and that is probably why you feel so strange about it. You would be surprised to know that there are many young ladies of your age that don't even know what a Period is. Perhaps you were a bit nervous and you didn't know how to do it for that reason.(having trouble inserting it properly)
Back in the 70's ,a movie named Carrie, it was about a young girl who was so upset when she had her first period that she was hysterical. I was only 13 when it happened to me and I wasn't at home I was with my best friend. My best friends Mom stepped in and said it's ok..and gives gave me the necessary stuff. I was a bit embarrassed but she and my best friend made me comfortable about myself. I knew what it was but I surely didn't know what to do. *Smiles.Don't let it cause you any further worry. If you still aren't able to insert one properly just ask Mom to give you instruction and direct you if you need. In no time you will be doing it just fine on your own. (This allows you to take control of the situation and will make you feel less *embarrassed about it all.
God bless,

anyway...perhaps it didnt go in becase you wer nervous, which would cause all the muscles in there to tense up. Next time you try, make sure you're not being rushed and your relaxed, that always helps me. also, appilcator tampons are easiest to use, so mayb give them a shot.
Hope you get the hang on it soon :) x

I personally wouldn't say it's weird at all, though I can understand why you feel a little "freaked out"
Your mom merely helped you with a personal issue, it's one of the things she's there for.
Just be grateful you have a mom willing to help :)
