Nah, that's normal. Some people like it, others don't. Just make sure you make this clear to your girlfriend, tell her it's not her, but that you are not a fan of public display of affection.
Compromise though, for example agree to kissing her when you meet and when you part ways, or agree to holding hands in public.

God bless you,my friend !, I live in an area of my city that's full of schools and students , so basically you can't move without bumping into some young couple rapturously making out in the middle of the sidewalk :).
I am not a prude, I swear, it's just that witnessing people's saliva's exchanges before breakfast or lunch does not do wonders for my appetite.

Just explain to your girlfriend that you don't like to kiss in public and let her know why, as in you just aren't comfortable with it. Give her extra hugs and hold hands if your comfortable with that. Good Luck

Hi, It really is not weird, I have been out with guys who feel the same way and I have friends who have the same probem. As long as it is not born out of some kind of shame, it is perfectly fine, and hopefully your girlfriend will understand that you don't like it, maybe you can compensate by giving her lots of hugs and holding hands in public, so she feels wanted.
