I was speaking with a friend recently who happens to be pregnant - she's had a couple of he incidents with bleeding although so far everything seems fine thank goodness. She was discussing how she'd read that having sex in the early stages of a pregnancy can actually increase the risk of miscarrige...particularly if you've previously miscarried. I have never heard this before - do any of you aunts and uncles know if this is true? I plan to discuss with my Dr, but thought I'd see what you guys have heard on this too. Thanks!

It's been 5 months since my last m/c and now it seems like we can't get pregnant...we aren't stressing just yet, but I hope I can again soon!!
I know it will be quite anxiety provoking though - I will be trying not to stress but also praying not to miscarry. Cross your fingers for us. x

Yes it can increase the risk of miscarriage in the first trimester when the pregnancy is in a delicate developmental stage. Also a mans sperm contains hormone that can soften the cervix, similar to prostin used for induction of labour. Many women experience 'spotting' or bleeding after intercourse when pregnant and this can be throughout the pregnancy. This may not result in miscarriage, but usually causes concern for the woman who experiences it.
Maybe have intimacy with your partner that doesnt include penetration. As you have previously miscarried, you should discuss with your doctor what is best to do.
Good luck hun xx
