My life is full of tragedies. Illness, divorce, financial crises, betrayal, losing home, losing job, and losing loved ones. Not any of my plans ever goes ,where I want it.

I'm trying ,but no success. Yet I see , everybody around me,having a pretty normal life. What could be a reason to fail , and not get what you want? Can I be punished for something?Or is it pure bad luck/ ?

Fatherly Advice agony auntMammaMia I liked your reply I have been thinking about this post for a while and afraid to reply for fear that my reply might seem cruel. I believe you are right and that the original poster was getting very depressed and needs a better outlook.

I would like to add a few quotes of my own on the subject of luck for others who might look into this.

“This thing we call luck is merely professionalism and attention to detail, it's your awareness of everything that is going on around you, it's how well you know and understand your aircraft and your own limitations. Luck is the sum total of your of abilities as an aviator. If you think your luck is running low, you'd better get busy & make some more. Work harder, pay more attention. Do better preflights."

-Stephen Coonts, 'The Intruders.'

Flying is so many parts skill, so many parts planning, so many parts maintenance, and so many parts luck. The trick is to reduce the luck by increasing the others.

It sounds to me like you want so many things to happen for you all at once. Try and look at it this way and prioritise, one thing at a time from the most important to the least. Give yourself time and make goals that are going to be achievable and remember, things won't happen over night.

The great tragedy of life is not that men perish, but that they cease to love. (qoute by W.Somerset Maugham)

Elbert Hubbard said: "There is no failure except in no longer trying".

Isaac Singer said: "If you keep saying that things are going to be bad, you have a chance of being a prophet".

Norman Cousins said: " The capacity for hope is the most significant fact of life. It provides human beings with a sense of destination and the energy to get started".

"We cannot tell what may happen to us in the strange medley of life. But we can decide what happens in us...how we can take it, what we can do with it...and that is what really counts in the end"(quote by Joseph Fort Newton.

Remember the words of Anne Wilson Scaef: "We don't make mistakes. We just have learnings".

Be Positive and do as Willim Jamaes said: " The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind"

Rene DuBois said: "Man shapes himself through decisions that shape his environment".

And in closing, "If you want the present and the future to be different from the past, Spinosa tells us, study the past, find out the causes that made it what it was and bring different causes to bear". (quote by Will and Dariel Durant).

Be more positive and think more positive.
