If she feels the same way then do it. It's not illegal because your not related by blood.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (22 January 2008):

As long as you and her do not have a common blood ancestor, it is OK to date her. You can even have sex with her because it is not against the law. I have read posts from a lot of girls who were so attracted to their stepbrother that they had sex with their stepbrother while they were living under the same roof.

Bottom line is you are consenting adults and can do whatever you want. So if you feel like you would enjoy dating each other, go for it.

rcn agony auntIt's not against the law to marry a step sibling. What I would look at is her track record. Sounds as if she's having difficulty maintaining a positive relationship. This may cause a problem. If the two of you don't work out, she's still your step sister, and that could cause problems or family issues.

A male reader, Uncle Trev United Kingdom +, writes (19 January 2008):

Providing there is no blood ties involved there is no reason why step brother and step sister cannot date or marry. Well there is not here in the UK.

If you met a girl and got married then at a later date say your father marries her mother how could this make your marriage wrong all of a sudden. Looked at this angle it highlights why there is nothing wrong with it.

If you like each other go for it and to hell with the step mother.
