As you get to know each other better, you tend to be exposed to the other person's flaws and frailities. Whether those issues are small enough to be ignored or too vital to compromise with is another matter altogether. That doesn't mean the love you felt was not real. There is no difference between loving someone and thinking you love someone. It's the same thing...it's about how you feel and how someone else makes you feel. And you don't have to meet someone in order to have these feelings develop. Love doesn't have a rulebook, when I last checked. That's why it's love.

I'm sorry... I respectfully disagree with Foot-in-my-mouth
I think you can love things about this person
I think you can THINK you love this person.
I DO NOT think you can actually love the person...
what happens when you meet... and find out that she has things that are wrong that you can't get past....
things like
body odor that no amount of bathing fixes
bad breath due to gastric issues that can't be resolved?
what if she is so different face to face that it's like not the same person.
do you talk on the phone
do you talk via skype
have you seen her recent pictures... have you talked with webcam.
for all you know she chews with her mouth open and spews bits of food about on you while eating and talking...
she is wise to not encourage your "I love you" from a distance.
when are you meeting?
how is this going to work out?

Of course it's possible. Thousands are falling in love online as we speak and a few hundreds will actually end up being together!
If she doesn't want to hear you out, it's possible that she doesn't feel the same way about you. Have you ever considered the possibility of meeting her in real life? Or do you stay halfway across the globe from one another?
