My mate told him i liked him and he said he liked me too but wouldn't do anything about it because his friend really liked me. this was like a year ago and had not really thought about him until i saw him again recently but didn't get the chance to say hi in person (we had some eye contact and smiles). His friend that liked me doesn't live in this country anymore so that isn't an issue. Is it OK to facebook message him and say hi or is that a bit stalkerish?! as its been so long since we last spoke? p.s I'm his friend on facebook and been for ages.

Message him! It's not stalkerish to say hi. True its been a while but who cares. You're just saying hi to a friend. If it turns out to be more then great. Maybe he is still interested by his eye contact and smiles. Either way it's fine. Look at it this way, if he randomly messaged you would you be happy or would you be like wow he is stalking me! :) hope it helps
