Teachers are there for pastoral care as well, so if as you say you can trust him and feel comfortable with him, go ahead and talk it over with him; he will be pleased to help.

OK just so long as it's nothing illegal (sexual abuse, abuse of any kind, sex life, etc...) then there's nothing to worry about. If he's OK with it, go for it.

Not usually a good idea. If he thinks a crime has been committed or you're in any kind of dangerous or bad situation, he is required by law to report it. It's not a good idea to talk to teachers about personal problems, it's never as private as you think it will be and it will permanently change your relationship (usually for the worse). It may also make him uncomfortable. My advice is to find someone else to talk to, friends, parents, etc... Why this teacher?

If you feel that you can talk to him then he is someone who is in a place to help students. I think that he would be someone who would give you some good advice or direct you somewhere else to help.
