Well, of course it's "OK", but if you're really hairy in places where it shows when you're dressed (face, neck etc), then there can be a social stigma attached to that.
Dr Psych is right (as usual) about PCO syndrome. That can give you hair growth in unusual areas, like chest and face, but if you're talking about an "all-over fur" - I went to school with a girl who had this condition - then it's definitely worth a trip to the doctor to find out whether it can be treated.
Although there's no problem with it and it's perfectly within the range of normal human appearance, being really hairy can make people stare at you, and ultimately, that can make you uncomfortable.
So, even if it's just patches of hair in places where it isn't usually, it's probably worth a trip to talk to your doctor about treatment.

It depends how hairy is hairy! With media pressure to wax yourself to an inch of your life then you have to decide how much hair you have got. Lots of women have hairy legs etc because they are naturally dark haired. However, there are certain medical conditions related to your hormones that can affect hair growth. For example, if you have dark facial hair it can be a sign of polycystic ovarian syndrome. You can get a simple test at the doctors.
