writes:My girlfriend asked if I wanted to go to the beach one weekend and I said yes. We're going in about a weeks time but I'm starting to feel insecure because she's fairly tanned all over her body. Whilst my arms and head are tanned but my torso is really pale white.She's never seen me with my top off as we've only been going out for about a month so I'm worried that shes gonna break up with me because I look embarrassing on the beach when lying next to her with her tanned body. I'm I just being ridiculous and panicking over nothing or should I do something about it?

reader, anonymous, writes (10 June 2006): i went to the beach for the weekend for the first time with my bf and he's very fit cos he plays sport and seems to have no choc/crisps/ice-cream cravings!! he also had a natural tan and took the sun quickly, im ultra pale, burn easily, flat chested and you definately cant see my ribs!!!
we had the best weekend, she's prob just looking forward to spending time relaxin with you.
giv her some credit!! and you cant go wrong if you make her laugh and treat her like a princess!!

 I am sure your girlfriend isnt so superficial that your tan, or lack of, will bother her. Lets face it, if she dumped you over something so trivial then she wouldn't be worthy of your attention. If you don't want to look like a zebra on the beach then get some of that fake tan in a can stuff to paint yourself bronze! Remember to wear lots of sun cream on the beach though because your white bits will just go red faster than your arms because they would be naturally less exposed to the sun.
