 I was completely the same way... finally at 19 I found a fella who I did not want to run from when he took off his pants and that's how I knew he was the one. My friends (who were saying "just sleep with someone, ANYONE to get it over with!! It's not a big deal!!" etc. etc.), now all think that it's incredibly cool and romantic that I waited for so long. And now they all wish they had waited too!
You're totally doing the right thing and completely normal. Just means you have your senses working right!!

 I was the same at your age. I had lots of b/friends. Never wanted sex with them, they did nothing for me so i didnt want to. But after i'd met my partner (of 30 years now) I felt like it was so right and not afraid to walk about naked in front of him or embarrassed or nothing , because he is the one for me. So when that guy comes along for you, then this question will not be asked by you, you will just know. I suppose that's what real love is and real love is the best aphrodisiac ever!

reader, anonymous, writes (14 December 2008): Yeah, totally normal. Don't let him do anything you're not comfortable with. Don't let peer pressure get the better of you, it doesn't make you an outcast if you haven't done it. In fact most people our age lie and say they've done it when they haven't!
However don't be scared of sex either, it can be an amazing, pleasurable experience if done safely, in moderation with the right person =]

I have never liked sex very much and thats the truth. yes I have ahd sex with a few partners and was married which broke up but I have never liked it and I think you will find if more people were honmest -there are lots who dont.
I have met some men who have said they dont like it either (they never did it with me) but said they didnt like it much.
