Could it actually be a pulled muscle?
I know I have an old yoga injury, and it started because I did not stretch well enough before hand and tried going farther then my back was willing to go. It hurt for a long time after, and 3-4 years later that same area acts up.
Might need to go to the doctor about it. It would be wise, and who know maybe you could have injured it seriously.
