A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend and I see each other about 1-2 times a week. We've been dating since October 2008 and it's been nothing but wonderful. Well, we haven't had sex since early May because I haven't been "in the mood" since I started taking birth control pills. Well, today we decided to go ahead and have sex while he was here. We had sex twice with no condom,(Im on birth control), he lasted about 5 minutes each time, and he orgasmed but didn't cum. I didn't feel it, and he says he didn't. I'm just wondering, Is it normal or possible for a guy to have an orgasm but not cum?

It does happen, but it is not the norm. It is called retrograde ejaculation. Here is an article from the famous Mayo Clinic that explains it.

I have heard of this (yes I wasn't sure if I should believe it) that when a man ejaculates it doesn't mean he's having an orgasm. I'm not a doctor so honestly I don't know for sure. But yes, I have heard of this before. Most guys will completely disagree and even I did. But a man can ejaculate but not have an orgasm...apparently they're separate. So if that is true, I'm guessing a man can orgasm and not ejaculate?
