If you have a house already in your name, keep it that way. And if you and he get married, have a prenup ready so he cannot take property that you entered the marriage with.

Buying property before marriage or a civil union (pretty much anything legal) is a very tricky thing, and I would honestly suggest seeking legal counsel to make sure you are covered.

If he shies away when you mention "prenup" or and legally binding contract ensuring your half of property, then you have your answer.

ErinPatterson agony auntgod thats an awful thought. make sure you cover yourself if that is how you feel. you know..dont put his name on it..or dont do it at all if you are not sure and are second guessing that.
