In my state I know that the age of consent is 16, but he will turn 18 before I turn 16. We are both concerned that we will get in trouble, or more importantly he will get in trouble if we do anything sexual. My question is, is it likely that we will get in trouble for being together? You should wait until you are 16 to do anything sexually or yes you will end up in trouble. He could go to prison and his life could be ruined for ever if he is caught with a person under age.

... Couldn't you just wait until you turn 16 before you do anything sexual ? :) That would eliminate authomatically any risk of legal troubles.

Sexually, yes. Don't do anything sexual while you're underage. Other than that, things should be okay.

There is a law about crossing state lines after he turns 18. Other than that I can't think of any legal trouble you could get into if you aren't sexual.
