Hello, I am a 31 year old married woman with the following question. When I ask my husband to help me in the kitchen, he usually interprets that to mean that I will continue to do all of the work while he stands behind me and prods me in the rump/upper thighs area. Do all men do this? Why is help in the kitchen a code word for this?

Funny funny post...

I've seen my mother try to pull the same trick on my father when he's asked her to help him find something in the kitchen. It doesn't seem to work on men as well.

He got flustered and ran away...first time I've ever seen my dad blush.

person12345 agony auntOh and to add, what Dirtball said, yeah sometimes it sounds like you're speaking in code to a guy when you're giggling oh stop it... So at a certain point you have to get serious.

person12345 agony auntLOL. This certainly sounds familiar to my situation. It's his way of weaseling out of work while at the same time copping a feel. I just asked my partner why he feels the need to do this, his response was, "it's payment. I will do work in exchange for touching boobs.." aka I don't feel like I should have to do work when you're already doing it for me. There's also a bit of stereotyping in there of women belong in the kitchen men shouldn't have to cook I assume.

Next time he tries this, turn around and give him a good grope, then demand he helps. It should startle him enough to listen.

No, not all men do this. If you don't like it then tell him.

dirtball agony auntLMAO! Next time tell him how he can help when he gets in there. Although, I'll admit, that is fun to do from a guy's perspective. I've been guilty of doing that, although I do actually help if I sense that we're not speaking in code. It's a fantasy of a lot of men to have sex in such a situation, so I'd venture many men have done this. Although, i like adding some neck kisses in with the prodding.
