I don't think this guy really likes you. There's this guy I like in my school who's like that with his girlfriend, but she just puts up with it because she just wants a boyfriend which is ridiculous. I went to this competition with him one night and he just acted like she didn't even exist, he kept flirting with me and touching me and it sounds like your boyfriend is exactly the same.
The upside of it is that if you do dump him then you will most likely get another boyfriend who really likes you and won't make you question your relationship.
