writes:I got a crush on a guy who's in his 30 and I can't figure out whether he likes me or not..We can chat 2 hrs or more without boring each other and we really like each other company a lot..(when we first met, he told me he got an ex who cheated on him).. but my family don't like him very much..and when i told him about that indirectly..he said nothing..but then the next day, he said "my gf and I got a new understanding now but don't know if would work out or not"..But we still set date to have lunch together and chat..(he's been the one who usually set the date and once or twice he had called me and said "ask me out").. Months ago..during a conversation, I brought up the subject about my family don't like him and asked him question like "what are we?? are we really friends??.sorta" First he tried to drop the subject saying "lets talk about this later..this is not the time to talk about it" (i know he was taking my words as I love u message)..but I asked him again and then he said "We are JUST chatting and there's nothing wrong with it,,I chat with lots of people and also I take u as a little sister of mine..and my GF also said I'm quite social"...It hurt me but i said "yeah..i take this as nothing too"..that made him blush and he said bye and took off without looking back..and no contact for weeks..but I sent him an email about how he meant to me and I really want him to be my BFF..he replied me with an email swearing the he'd be my best friend..and he even called me that night asking me about my mail (he sound happy) and said he got so many questions in his mind..I just said I wanna be friend with him...and now we're going along as usual (we meet once in a while and chat as before..except that he said "I got my heartbroken,,GF broke up but not sure yet,,its complicated") ..problem is we don't meet very often..even like once or twice a month..and i don't call him very much and he doesn't either..but everytime i call him..he sound happy and when i left him miss call,, he immediately called me back...but after that particular conversation,,he never calls me first (he used to call me first in the past..though quite rare) ... but when i call,, he always said lets meet tomorrow or this week..(i don't call him very often ..so i don't meet him very often..and i don't wanna call very much coz he said he got a GF..don't wanna be relationship breaker) ..and on our last date (or appointment).. he ate my leftover!!! (that's the thing only sibling or married couple do) ..he seemed a little shy by it but he ate up my leftover but acted like its nothing and when he left he said "i will call u..i got some business to do near ur place..so i'll call u and lets meet up"..but its been days that he's not called yet..I know if I call him ,,i could meet him..but WHY HE HAS TO ACT LIKE THAT?? WHAT ABOUT HIS GF??? HE LIKES ME OR JUST PLAYING WITH ME???

reader, anonymous, writes (20 March 2011): How are you being played when you are making all the moves and he makes none? You just sound very frustrated because you are trying to make this go somewhere beyond friends and he likes someone else.
