Is he into me or the "idea" of me?

Question - (11 February 2011) 0 Answers - (Newest, )
A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I've known this guy for about 2 months now and we have been dating for a little more than a month. I met him at a conference.

Like I said, it's been around a month of dating and I feel like things are moving way too quickly. Not physically, but emotionally on his part.

He hints at loving me and makes "jokes" about us getting married. I feel like even though he's probably not serious about these things, that it's way too soon for things like this. I mean, I like him, but not that much yet.

Because he's new in town, he doesn't really know anyone or have any friends outside of his colleagues. So I don't know if he's into me for me or the idea of me...if that makes any sense.

Do you guys agree? Or am I just a bit afraid of commitment?
