My question is could he be getting close to saying, "I love you?" maybe with time...? A few weeks ago he said, "You know you love me." I laughed and said, "No, you do." And then we were both quiet. Hmmm not sure what to think of that. Maybe it's his way to find out if I do, then say the "L" word himself. Reply to this Question Share |

Whether he's close to it or not, he is certainly enjoying his time with you. Don't push him. Nothing can ruin a relationship faster than saying the L word too fast and then realizing maybe you didn't mean it.
I'm in the same boat as you are. My BF and I have been together for a while, and I love him and have told him so. He has been burned really badly with his past relationships, and is really waiting until he knows for sure before he says it back. I am completely ok with this, since I know that when he does finally say it on his own, it's because he will mean it.
