If a man has recently met a woman and shared with her stories about his childhood, disappointments, likes, dislikes, etc., would you interpret this as him being attracted to her as a future romantc partner or more as a "sister-type" friend?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (4 December 2007):

I have no idea. I mean I guess it is good that he is opening up to you. But, in my opinion, a more telling sign that he really likes you is that he asks YOU lots of questions. And is really curious to get to know YOU.

But don't worry about how he feels. What do YOU want?? Do you like this guy? Would you like a future with him?? And if the answer is yes, then next time you see him and he starts rambling on and on about his crazy childhood, just change the subject and start flirting with him instead and see how he responds.

birdynumnums agony auntIt sounds like the same kind of things that people talk about on dates, so I guess you'll have to pay closer attention to other cues. Dialated pupils? Laughing over everything you say? Leaning into the conversation? Touching your arm or hand every once in a while to punctuate the conversation? Getting warmer! If he's available, ask him out and you'll have an answer! Guys are really happy to not have the pressure of being the one who does all the asking. At the very least, you'll have an answer one way or the other. Good Luck!
