writes: hiya i was just wondering if anyone could help me. does anyone know of someone or maybe even yourself(females only) that has lost thier sex drive through taking the pill? i'm on the pill(im 20) and have been for over a year now. before i started to take the pill i was pestering my bf for sex all the time but i have noticed and so has my bf that over the last few months i havent been interested in sex so much, some of the time not at all. im totally in love with my bf there has been a few bumps in the road lately with me thinking he was cheating but all thats finished with now n we spoke it through. do you think this might be affecting me or could it be the pill?

reader, anonymous, writes (15 October 2006): Yes, the pill can affect your sex drive negatively, there are other pills that may not have this affect and you should definately discuss this with your doctor...I find that the low estrogen pills are the best, they are safer and they do not have this affect for me anyway...don't give up on your birth control.,I am sure you will find the right pill for you.

reader, anonymous, writes (14 October 2006): I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!!!! im not taking the pill but ive got that implant thing in my arm for about 2 years now and my sex drive has never been the same since. I went to my doctor about it, i was sooo embarrassed, but i had to do it. he just gave me some pills, they didnt work!, he just said its my hormones adjusting to my implant rod and that i will be back to normal soon. Hope iv helped you and your not the only one!!!X
