In women Urinary Tract Infections are common and it is definitely not an STI. However your wife should, if she’s had sex with some-one else, get an STI check anyway. It’s important to remember that an STI may present no symptoms but needs to be treated. IF she has not done this already, she should get tested. But if she knows she’s clear, rest assure: this infection does not give you any cause to be concerned.
I wish you all the very best.

No, definitely not. Most women get them at least occasionally. It's unrelated. Sometimes sex can cause them, but it would have shown up within a week. She should go to a doctor for some antibiotics, drink LOTS of fluid, and take cranberry pills (the juices are all sugar). If she gets the often, she should think about starting a cranberry pill regimen. I take them if I know I'm in a situation where I'm at risk (such as when I have to go for long periods of time without peeing) and they definitely help.
I'm sorry your wife cheated on you and wish you the best of luck getting things back on track.

UTI or urinary tract infection is caused when bacteria gets into the urethra and the bladder... IT's very common in women... because all the parts are so close together...
I had them very frequently when younger and even bubble bath could cause them.
IT's not a sign of cheating although sex can cause a UTI if the woman does not pee before and after... I used to get them from using a diaphragm as birth control frequently...
it is NOT an STI in any way shape or form.

UTI is not an STI. Urinary tract infection can happen from so many different things it is near impossible to give one specific answer. You don't actually "get" a UTI. The bacteria that cause the infection are normal in your body. But different things can alter the balance of these bacteria, so that when there are too many of them you get what they call an infection. For example, I used to get UTI's when my immune defense was weakened (after having a cold, or being out in the cold for too long, or not having enough vitamins in my diet etc.). It can also happen if you've recently had sex with a new partner though, as each person has a different flora of bacteria, and that will also change the balance.
If you were a condom you wont get infected with it. The reason why this is typical for women to have, and not men, is because our urinary tract is more "exposed" than men's. Bacteria from the anus, or vulva, can cause an infection. This happens if a person doesn't wipe themselves properly after having been to the toilet for example. Whereas men don't have that same problem.

What you call a water infection, is a UTI Urinary Tract Infection.
It can happen after sex, but there are many other ways to get a UTI. UTI's may be sexually transmitted and are from a bacterial microbes.
Make sure she seeks treatment and you two either abstain from sex til she is UTI free ( or YOU can get infected or she re-infected).
UTI's are common in some women and have nothing to do with sex, but bladder problems.
